BMI Calculator
Calculate body mass index (BMI) with the WHO formula: weight in kilograms divided by height in meters squared. The tool shows the value and the WHO category. BMI is a rough screening measure — it ignores muscle mass, age and build, so questions about weight and health are best discussed with a doctor.
Frequently asked questions
What BMI counts as normal?
Per the WHO classification for adults: 18.5–24.9. The ranges do not apply to children, athletes or pregnant women.
Why isn't BMI a diagnosis?
The formula can't tell muscle from fat: an athlete's BMI may read 'above range' while they're perfectly healthy. Only a doctor can assess your health.
